At FARA, we believe that meaningful change begins in relationships.
We are more than an organisation—we are a growing community of women and girls, families, educators, researchers, practitioners, peer supporters, volunteers and allies who believe that everyone deserves to be seen as more than what has happened to them.
Our community is built through gatherings.
Some gatherings are spaces for learning. Others are places for rest, creativity, dialogue or celebration. Together, they create opportunities to connect, to listen, to share, and to discover that none of us has to navigate life alone.
Whether you join us online or in person, for one gathering or many, we hope you leave with a deeper sense of belonging and connection.
Throughout the year we create a range of gatherings designed to meet people where they are in life.
Global GatheringsBringing together women and girls from around the world through our More Than What Happened to Her Summer Programme, International Women's Day Conference and other global learning opportunities.
Sanctuary GatheringsOur online and residential retreats create opportunities to slow down, reflect, reconnect and find moments of sanctuary within ourselves, our homes and our communities.
Community GatheringsRegular peer support and dialogue gatherings where people can connect through conversation, reflection and shared experience in safe, welcoming spaces.

Community looks different for everyone.
Perhaps you're looking for connection.
Perhaps you're looking for learning.
Perhaps you're looking for somewhere you feel heard.
Or perhaps you're simply curious.
Whatever brings you here, we hope you'll discover a welcoming community grounded in compassion, dialogue and mutual respect.
You don't need to have all the answers.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
You simply need to arrive as you are.
There are many ways to become involved in FARA.
You might choose to:
Every contribution helps strengthen a community where relationships can grow and where women and girls are recognised as more than what happened to them.
At FARA, we know that community is not something that can be manufactured. It is something that grows through relationships, trust and shared experiences over time.
That is why we are committed to creating gatherings where people feel welcomed, heard, believed and respected.
Because while gatherings may last a few hours or a few days, the relationships we build within them can continue long after we have returned home.
The website should feel like a global women’s healing and education organisation. It should be warm and relational but also powerful, informed and change focused. The central message is that women and girls are more than their trauma.
FARA does not define women by what happened to them — it supports them to reclaim identity, dignity, voice and future.
